Fern was born on Wednesday, 2 June 1915 at Brownell, Warring Township, Ness County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Robert Franklin McCurdy and Bessie Gertrude Cecilia Underwood. Fern married Roy Sunley at Brownell, Warring Township, Ness County, Kansas. Fern died on Sunday, 2 May 1937 at the Bell Memorial Hospital, U of K, Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, at age 21 years and 11 months from burns obtained a year ago. She died where she was taken some weeks ago for treatment of burns she received about a year ago. [Obituary] Fern was laid to rest in the Methodist Cemetery, Albert, Barton County, Kansas.
