EL RENO - Funeral for former Frederick resident Gloria Jean McKinney, 67, El Reno, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Burkhardt Chapel of Frederick Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Snyder, pastor, First United Methodist Church, Frederick, officiating.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at an El Reno hospital.
Burial will be at Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick.
She was born Feb. 23, 1941, in Frederick, to Hesper and Lillian Hospetler McKinney. She grew up in Hollister, where she graduated from Hollister High School in 1959. She attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and married Hugh Taggard in September 1961. She worked as an accountant for 25 years and then as a caregiver (CNA) for 15 years. She was a mother advisor for Order of Rainbow for Girls of the Narema Assembly. She was a member of Hollister Methodist Church and later joined Seventh Day Adventist Church in Altus.
Survivors include three daughters: Sherri Taggard, Dianne Taggard and Kim Largent, all of Oklahoma City; a son, Emmett Taggard, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Mike McKinney, Avondale Heights, Australia; and R.D. McKinney, Naperville, Ill; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Hesper McKinney; and a granddaughter, Krystal Largent.1
Gloria was laid to rest on 14 February 2009 in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, Tillman County, Oklahoma.
