She was the daughter of Almeron Weller Whitehead & Mary Ann Maise [m. 12/25/1833 New York].1 She also went by the name of Jennie. Jane married Mortimer Allen Leggett, son of Augustus Wright Leggett and Elizabeth Seaman, on 7 April 1858 at Oakland County, Michigan. Her married name was Leggett. 5 June 1870, Jane and her husband Mortimer were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were M. A. Leggett [32 New York - farmer - Property value $8,000 & personal $2,000], Jinnie M. [30 Michigan], William H. [11 Michigan], Catharine M. [4 Michigan], May [2 Michigan]. [Drayton Plains P.O.]2 Jane departed this life on Saturday, 11 July 1874 at Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 34 years, 11 months and 3 days.3 Jane was laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan.
