Margaret was born on Friday, 8 August 1919. She often went by the nickname "Miggie." Margaret Allan was also known as Miggie. Margaret married Robert Murray Ferris III, son of Robert Murray Ferris Jr. and Adah Crump, on 19 June 1936 in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.1 10 April 1940, Margaretand her husband, Robert were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, at 80 Gates Avenue. Enumerated in this household were Robert M. Ferris [30 New Jersey] & Margaret A [29 New Jersey]. They were renting their home for $50 per month. Robert was working as a Telephone Engineer for $5000 a year.2 Margaret departed this life on Monday, 7 August 2006 in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, at age 86 years, 11 months and 30 days. She was buried in Martha's Vineyard, Chilmark, Duke's County, Massachusetts, in Abel's Hill Cemetery.
