     Marianna was born on Monday, 24 March 1828 at Manhattan, New York City, New York. Marianna married Hon. Jordan Lawrence Mott II on 20 April 1853 in Harlem, Westchester County, New York, at Reformed Dutch Church.1 18 July 1860, Mariannaand her husband, Jordan were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Morrisania, Westchester County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Jordan L. Mott [31 New York], Mary A. [30 New York], Maria L. [6 New York], Jordan L. Jr. [3 New York], servants: Mary Cleary [24 Ireland], Margaret Asburn [20 Ireland], Julia Ryan [36 Ireland]. His personal estate is valued at $10,000.2 1 June 1880, Mariannaand her husband, and her husband, Jordan were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Manhattan, New York City, New York, at Third Avenue. Enumerated in this household were Jordon L Mott [50 New York], Marianna [45 New York], Jordon L. Jr. [24 New York], daughter-in-law: Katherine J. [22 New York], Augustus W. [19 New York], son-in-law: William Olliffe [35 New York], daughter: Marie L. [26 New York], niece: Margaret S. Lasak [21 New York], servants: Theresa Graham [21 New York], Kate Clarry [23 Ireland], Mary Shugenassy [24 Ireland]. Both Jordans are working as iron Founders, Agustus is a clerk and William is a druggist.3 Marianna departed this life on Wednesday, 2 March 1898 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.

Obituary: Mrs. Jordan L. Mott – Mrs. Jodan L. Mott, the mother of Mrs. Charles F. McLean, died at “Edgewood” the home of her daughter near this village, Wednesday evening last, and the funeral took place from her late home at 2122 Fifth Avenue, New York, yesterday afternoon, at 5 p. m. The remains were taken to the Kensico Cemetery for interment.
Marian Seaman Mott was the wife of Jordan L. Mott, the well known iron founder, of Mott Haven. Her maiden name was Seaman, and she was married to Mr. Mott forty-six years ago. She had three children, Jordan L. Mott Jr., Augustus W. Mott of New York, and Mrs. Charles F. McLean, who is so well and favorable known in this vicinity, she being one of the board of Managers and earnest supporters of the Temporary Home, and also a zealous worker in church and benevolent work in this county. Mrs. Mott had suffered for a long time with heart trouble and indigestion, but her demise was not looked for by those nearest to her.

She was buried in Valhalla, Westchester County, New York, in Kensico Cemetery.
