     Mary was born 21st day of the 8th month 1815 at City, County & State of New York. She was the daughter of Robert I. Murray & Elizabeth Colden of New York. Mary married Lindley M. Ferris, son of Elijah Ferris and Amelia Livingston, 12th day of the 4th month 1854 in the New York Monthly Meeting, New York.1 21 August 1860, Lindley and Mary was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Montgomery, Orange County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Lindley M. Ferris [49 New York], Mary M [43 New York], Gertrude C [14 New York], William S [10 New York], William S [10 New York], Mary M [5 New York], Elizabeth C [3 New York] & domestics Susan Reeve [40 Irleland], Agnes [10 Ireland], Mary Ferguson [35 Ireland], Rachel Smith [20 New York]; Farm laborers: James Ferguson [35 Ireland] & Wiilliam Purdy [30 New York]. The value of their real estate was $18,000 and personal property $2,600.2 Mary's husband, an unknown person , died on 1 May 1872 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Flordia, leaving her a widow. 21 June 1880, Mary was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York. Enumerated in this household were William S Ferris [20 New York], Mother: Mary M. [65 New York], Siblings: Caroline M [31 New York], Mary M [25 New York] & Elizabeth C [22 New York].3 Mary departed this life on Monday, 26 September 1881 at age 65 years, 11 months and 5 days. 26th day of the 9th month 1881. She was buried at Poughkeepsie in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Her tombstone reads: Mary Murray Ferris wife of Lindley Murray Ferris - Born eighth month 21st day 1815 - Died nineth month 26th day 1881.4
