Kenneth I. Guest

     Kenneth was born on Sunday, 26 May 1878 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. He was the son of Adolphus Andreas Guest and Martha Irving Thomas. Kenneth married Emma Ferrand Whittemore, daughter of James Whittemore and Blanche Irving Leggett, on 14 June 1906 in Detroit.¹ 22 April 1910, Kenneth and his wife, Emma, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Detroit at 150 Clairmount. Enumerated in this household were Keneth I Guest [31 Michigan], Emma H. [26 Michigan], James W. [1 Michigan], a servant: Dorothy Liedel [18v Michigan]. They have been married 3 years. They have had 2 children, 1 living. He is a sales manager.² On his WW I draft registration, he is described as tall, stout and with blue eyes and brown hair. 8 January 1920, Kenneth was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Highland Park at 75 Tennyson Avenue. Enumerated in this household were Kenneth I Guest [40 Michigan], Emma [36 Michigan], James W. [10 Michigan], Kenneth I. Jr. [9 Michigan], John Randolph [6 Michigan], Elizabeth [4 Virginia], a servant: Marie Daniel 17 Georgia]. Kenneth is a stock broker. They have a morgage on their home.³ 8 April 1930, Kenneth and his wife, Emma, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Highland Park at 75 Tennyson Avenue. Enumerated in this household were Kenneth I Guest [51 Michigan], Emma [46 Michigan], James W. [21 Michigan], Kenneth I. Jr. [19 Michigan], John Randolph [1 6Michigan], Elizabeth L. [14 Virginia]. He was 28 years old when first married; she was 23 years old. They own their home valued at $12,000.Kenneth is a merchandise broker for a canned goods company. They have a morgage on their home.⁴ Kenneth departed this life on Saturday, 24 September 1938 in Glendale at age 60 years, 3 months and 29 days.⁵ He was buried at Glendale in Grand View Memorial Park and Crematory.⁶
