Phebe (?)

     Phebe was born in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Phebe married Lt. Edmund Howell, son of Captain Richard Howell and Elizabeth Tuthill, after August 1779 in the Town of Southold. Edmund and Phebe had children: Desire, Katurah, Charity, Jacob [all baptized 30 May 1790]. Phebe departed this life on Sunday, 8 July 1804 in the Town of Southold. Jason Aldrich was paid 4s for "..diging Grave for Widow Howell.." by the Overseers of the Town of Riverhead, as recorded on 29 Mch 1805.
