     Edmund was born circa 1739 in Mattituck in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He signed the Oath of Allegiance and Peaceable Behaviour required by Governor William Tryon in 1778.3 Edmund was listed as the oldest son in his father's will. Edmund married Rachael Tuthill on 29 October 1760 in the Town of Southold.4 Edmund and Rachael had children: Parnel [ch 6/09/1765], Anna [ch. 12/17/1771-1776] & William [4/00/1776-12/05/1776]. Edmund's wife, Rachael, died on 23 November 1774 in the Town of Southold leaving him a widower.5 Edmund married 2nd Bethia Downs on 27 February 1775 in the Town of Southold. Edmund and Bethia had a daughter, Mahitable [2/22/1776] & baptized 7/18/1790. Edmund's wife, Bethia, died in August 1779 in the Town of Southold leaving him a widower. Edmund married 3rd Phebe (?) after August 1779 in the Town of Southold. Edmund and Phebe had children: Desire, Katurah, Charity, Jacob [all baptized 30 May 1790]. Edmund departed this life in the Town of Southold.
