     John was born in 1638 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. John Feke (as he wrote it) birth date not certainly known, d. as per Friends' record, "an Ancient friend of Matinecock" 3 mo. (May) 1724; son of Robert and Elizabeth (Fones — Winthrop) Feake of Watertown, Mass.
Issue, (See Feake Lineage.) John married, daughter of Matthew Prior and Mary (?), the 15th day of the 1st month 1673 in her family home in Killingworth Upon Matinecock, Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York.5,6 The family resided at Matinecock in the town of Oyster Bay where John owned interest in a mill and farmed. They were members of the Quaker Church. John was a well-known & respected member of the community. On the 30th day of the 2nd month 1707, John Feakes presented a paper with his "condemnation" for his having taken too much strong drink. John departed this life in the 3rd month 1724 in Matinecock, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was buried there in the Feake section of the Underhill Burying Ground in Locust Valley.

    , page 59 - 1631. " John ffeake," the father of the wife of Johni Carpenter, was one of the best known men of the township of Oyster Bay. He was an honored member of the Society of Friends and universally respected. His father was Robert Feake who came with Governor Winthrop .to Massachusetts Bay, 1631. The wife of Robert Feake was the widow of Governor Winthrop's son, her maiden name being Elizabeth Fones, daughter of Thomas and Anna (Winthrop) Fones. They were married in 1631. Robert Feake was "Lieutenant," "Representative," etc. In 164o he was with Captain Patrick, at Greenwich, Conn. In 1649 he was of Flushing, L. I., but died in Watertown, Mass., 1662. The wife of "John ffeake" was Elizabeth, the daughter of Matthew and Mary Prior. They were married 15d. 7mo. 1673, and he died -d. 3mo. 1724; 1707. 30d. 2mo. John Feakes presented a paper with his "condemnation" for his having taken too much strong drink. (Vide Westbury Friends' Meeting Records.).

Latting, Genealogical Fragments: The Sinclair and Feake Families, page 21 - John Feake, son of Robert and Elizabeth (Fones-Winthrop) Feake. b. about 1638-39. m. 15th Sept. 1670, Elizabeth dau. of Matthew Prior of Killingsworth (Matinecock). He was associated at an early age with Capt. John Underhill and William Frost in the purchase and settlement of the Matinecock lands: was an active and prominent member of the Society of Friends, where meetings for many years were held at his house. His wife died Feb. 25, 1701-02. He survived her and died at an advanced age, in the month of May, 1724.
