Alice Evelyn Warwick

     Alice was born on Thursday, 4 February 1904 at Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Arthur John Warwick and Nelsie Rhea Loomis. Alice Evelyn married Richard B. Paddock, son of Richard Bolles Paddock and Grace Pershing, before 1933. This marriage ended between 1945 and 17 May 1950. The 1933 Memphis City Directory lists Richard and Alice are residing in a pent house on McLean Blvd. in Memphis, Tennessee. 9 May 1940, Richard and her husband, Alice were listed on the US Federal Census at 2771 Seridan, Evanston, Cook County, Illinois. Enumerated in this household were Richard B. Paddock [49 Wyoming], Alice [35 Tennessee] & a maid: Louise Holmes [42 Tennessee]. Richard is a proprietor engineer of a civil engineeing company. Richard has had 5 years of college and Louise and Alice have had 4 years of college. They were living in New York City in 1935. They are renting for $250 per month.1 The 1943 Memphis City Directory lists Richard and Alice residing at 2367 Forrest Avenue Apt 1, Memphis, Tennessee and then in 1945 at 2275 Forrest Aveue Apt 2. Alice departed this life on Monday, 13 February 1984 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at age 80 years and 9 days. She was buried in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, in Elmwood Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Alice Warwick Paddock Feb 4, 1904-Feb 13, 1984.2
