Dr. Thomas T. Cock1

M, b. 12 January 1783, d. 14 June 1869
     Thomas was born on Sunday, 12 January 1783 at Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of Daniel Cock and Rosannah Townsend.2 Thomas married Elizabeth Ferris, daughter of John Ferris and Marianna "Myanna" Hunt, on 19 January 1809 in Manhattan at First Prebyterian Church, 10 Wall Street.3,2,4 Thomas was a student of his brother-in-law, Dr. Valentine Seaman, and later was in partnership with him until his death in 1817. After Dr. Valentine's death his son, Dr. William Seaman took over his father's partnership with Thomas. Thomas married second, Esther C. Seymour, daughter of William & Esther Seymour, 12 August 1833. She died 7 July 1834. He married third, Marie Margaretta Riele, on 3 July 1836 at the Philadelphia Monthly meeting. 6 December 1850, Thomas was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New York City. Enumerated in this household were Thomas Cock [66 Long Island], Margaretta [48 Pennsysvania], Elizabeth [15 New York], William [10 New York], Mary Curran [30 Ireland], Elizabeth Lyons [30 Ireland], Chas Lyons [13 Ireland].5 Thomas departed this life on Monday, 14 June 1869 in Manhattan at age 86 years, 5 months and 2 days.6,7
