     Leonard Joseph was born on Wednesday, 15 May 1901 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.1 On 24 November 1923, Leonard and his uncle Phil Meraw crossed over from Canada at the Port of Naigara Falls.2 Leonard married Frances Looney on 27 December 1941 in Maumee.3 On 14 February 1942m Leon registered for the draft. He was described as being 5' 10 1/4" 190 pounds with brown eyes black and gray hair, dark complexion.4 His last residence was in Palmetto, Manatee County, Florida. In 1955, he was living in Pontiac, Michigan. Leonard departed this life on Monday, 8 January 1979 in Desoto County, Florida, at age 77 years, 7 months and 24 days.5
