     David was born on Friday, 5 March 1323. He was the son of Robert "The Bruce " I, King of Scotland and Elizabeth de Burgh. David married Joan "of the Tower" or "Make Peace" on 17 July 1328 at Berwick-On-Tweed, Northumberland, England. The river Tweed separates the two countries Scotland & England. This marriage was designed to end the hostilities between the countries of England & Scotland. They were crowned & annointed as King & Queen of Scotland 24 November 1331. David departed this life on Friday, 22 February 1371 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, at age 47 years, 11 months and 17 days. David was laid to rest in Holyrode Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. He was king from 1329-1371. Since he had no issue, his nephew Robert Stewart inherited the crown.
