     Zola was born on Friday, 14 May 1920 at Quenemo, Osage County, Kansas. She was the daughter of John & Cora [Michael] Clark.1 Zola married Willard Ralph Thornbrugh, son of Clemmie Weaver Thornbrugh and Emma Elizabeth Hammock, on 27 November 1937. 5 April 1940, Zola and her husband Willard were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Williamsburg Township, Franklin County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were W. R. Thornbrugh [21 Kansas], his wife: Zola E. [18 Kansas] & Jeanette Y [1 Kansas]. He completed 3 years of high school and she completed 8th grade. They rented their home for $5.00 a month. Willard work on a farm.2 Zola's husband, Willard, died on 29 November 2007 in Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas, at age 89 years, 1 month and 28 days, leaving her a widow.3 Zola departed this life on Thursday, 6 August 2009 at Vintage Park, Osage City, Osage County, Kansas, at age 89 years, 2 months and 23 days. Zola was laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Franklin County, Kansas.4

    Zola E. Thornbrugh, 89, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Vintage Park in Osage City. She was born on May 14, 1920 in Quenemo the daughter of John and Cora Michael Clark.

    Zola had lived at Perry Lake for many years, Lyndon for 20 years and had been in Osage City for the last year. She was a Homemaker and had driven a school bus for the Williamsburg schools for many years.

    On November 27, 1937, Zola was united in marriage to Willard Thornbrugh in Ottawa. Willard preceded her in death on November 29, 2007.

    Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter and grandson.

    She is survived by her daughter, Jan Lutze of Lyndon, her three sons, Willard Thornbrugh of Williamsburg, John Thornbrugh of Topeka and Terry Thornbrugh of Ozawkie, 8 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great-grandchild.

    Graveside memorial services for Zola will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona.
