Samuel Ashton

     Samuel was born circa 1896 at Kansas. Samuel married Mildred "Pearl" Thornbrugh, daughter of Clemmie Weaver Thornbrugh and Emma Elizabeth Hammock, on 20 September 1930. 13 April 1940, Samuel and his wife, Mildred, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 710 Kuwiska Street, Manistee, Manistee County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Samuel Ashton [44 Kansas] & his wife: Pearl [25 Kansas]. Samuel completed 8th grade, and Pearl completed 4 years of high school. They rented their home for $10.00 per month. In 1935, the couple lived in Benton Harbor, Berrian County, Michigan. They both worked in sales at a retail toy store.¹ Samuel departed this life in June 1950.
