He was a boarder at a rooming house and was listed as a fireman for the railroad.¹ 5 April 1930, Harry and his wife, Katherine, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 2509 North Nineth Street, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Enumerated in this household were Harry E Cox [36 Kansas], his wife: Katherine A. [33 Illinois], Katherine A [9 Arizona], Doris [4 8/12 Arizona]. They got married when Harry waws 26 and Katherine was 23. Harry is an engineer for the railroad.² 8 April 1940, Harry listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 2509 North Nineth Street, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Enumerated in this household were Harry Cox [47 Kansas], his wife: Katherine [43 Illinois], Katherine Anna [19 Arizona], Doris Elaine [14 Arizona], mother-in-law: Anna Hansen [75 Germany widowed].Harry completed one year of high school and Katherine completed 8 grade. Harry was a locomotive engineer for a steam railroad.³
