Edna Cox

     Edna was born on Saturday, 16 May 1891 at Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Charles E. Cox and Anna Pamelia Snodgrass. 21 April 1920, the U.S. Federal Census listed Edna in the household of his parents at 486 Freeman Avenue, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were Charles E Cox [63 Ohio], his wife: Anna [46 Kansas], Edna [28 Kansas]. Charles is listed as repairing cars for the railroad. Edna is a stenographer.¹ 7 April 1930, the U.S. Federal Census listed Edna in the household of her parents at 604 Freeman Avenue, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were Charles E Cox [71 Ohio], his wife: Anna [61 Kansas], D Edna [38 Kansas]. They owned their home which was valued at $5000. Charles was a car carpenter for the railroad and Edna was a journey woman for the State Printing Company.² 26 April 1940, Edna was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Mission Township, Shawnee County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were Edna D. Cox [48 Kansas], her father: Charles E. [81 Ohio], her mother: Anna [71 Illinois]. All three had completed the 8th grade. Edna was a bindery woman for the State Printing Company.³ Edna departed this life in April 1985 at Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, at age 93 years and 10 months.⁴
