He also went by the name of Tinie. Valentine departed this life on Wednesday, 25 March 1863 at Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 1 year, 5 months and 12 days. Valentine was buried at Sashabaw Cemetery, Independence Township, Oakland County, Michigan, in the same lot as his grandparents, John Wheeler & Elizabeth Beardslee. He has a small square stone bearing the inscription "Tinie L.".
