Alexander McNeil

     Alexander was born in August 1864 at Forty Fort, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Edwiin McNeil and Emily A. Dotterer. Alexander married Eliza Parsons Woodruff, daughter of George M. Woodruff and Elizabeth Ferris Parsons, in 1895. This marriage ended in divorce between 25 April 1910 and 10 January 1920, the dates of the census for those years. 1 June 1900, Alexander and his wife, Eliza, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Queens, New York City, Queens County, New York, at 281 Sanford Avenue. Enumerated in this household were Alexander MacNeil [35 Pennsylvania - August 1864], Elizabeth [34 Connecticut - November 1865], Mildred [4 New York - September 1895], Elizabeth [2 New York - July 1897], servants: Mary Tobin [25 Connecticut - March 1875], Johanna [30 Connecticut - September 1879]. Alexander is a broker.¹ 25 April 1910, Alexander and his wife, Eliza, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Brooklyn, Kings Counfy, New York, at 3902 La Fayette. Enumerated in this household were Alexander McNeil [45 Pennsylvania], Eliza P [43 Connecticut], Mildred [14 New York], Elizabeth [12 New York], Ruth [6 New York], servant: Mary Paszkouna [23 Austria]. The couple have been married 15 years and have had 3 children, all living.²
