     Susan was born on Monday, 16 October 1809 at Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Luther Baldwin Hendricks & Sarah Woodruff. On 18 February 1810, she was christened at Saint John Episcopal Church, Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey.¹ Susan Woodruff married Willett J. Seaman, son of Dr. Valentine Seaman and Anna Ferris, on 19 October 1830 in Essex County, New Jersey. 4 September 1850, Susanand her husband, and her husband, Willett were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Willit is running livery stable.² 16 August 1860, Susanand her husband, and her husband, Willett were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in City, County & State of New York. Enumerated in this household were Willet Seaman [50 New York], his wife: Susan [40 New Jersey], children: William [24 New Jersey - clerk], Eliza [20 New York], Sarah [16 New York], Sarah Henderson [68 New Jersey] and some borders.⁴ 14 June 1880, Susan was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Manhattan at 139 West 14th Street. Susan is running abording house.⁵ 7 June 1900, Susan was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Manhattan at 114 West 2nd Street. Enumerated in this household were Susan W. Seaman [90 New Jersey - October 1809][widow]... Eliza A. McFarlan [65 New York - February 1835]. Susan & Eliza are running a bording house.⁶ Susan departed this life on Wednesday, 18 October 1905 in Manhattan at her home at West 2nd Street at age 96 years and 2 days.⁷ Her will was probated on 29 January 1906.
