Ebenezer was born in 1730 in Aquabogue in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Ebenezer married Margaret Downs, daughter of John Downs and Margaret Howell, on 16 April 1752 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. In the 1778 census, Ebenezer Marther is listed with a family of eight in Aquebogue District. He gave his age as 48 on Oath of Allegiance & Peaceable Behavior that was required by Gov. Tryon in 1778.1 Ebenezer departed this life on Saturday, 20 December 1794 in Minisink Town, Orange County, New York.
