     William was born circa 1146. William married Isabel Fitz Gilbert de Clare, daughter of Richard de Clare 2nd Earl of Pembroke and Aoife MacMurrough, in 1189. He and Isabel Fitz Gilbert de were blessed with 10 children. William departed this life on Tuesday, 14 May 1219 in Oxfordshire, England, at Caversham Estate. He was buried at London, County Middlesex, England, in Temple Church.
