William was born on Tuesday, 9 January 1673/74 in Branford, New Haven County, Connecticut. William married Elizabeth Morris circa 1699 in Connecticut. After their marriage, they bought the home of Elizabeth's parents. In December 1701, William left port on the ship "" - never to be heard of again. William died in March 1701 when his ship went down while out at sea.
