     Enos was born before 7 January 1761 in Blooming Grove, Orange County, New York. On 7 January 1761, he was christened in Blooming Grove, Orange County, New York. Enos married Irena Vail, daughter of Isaiah Vail and Abigail Meeker, on 26 March 1783 in Orange County, New York. Enos was a farmer. He settled the "Mile Square" tract which he helped his father to clear from the wilderness. He was one of the executors of his father's estate.   1. [S76] Frank Mapes Ham, Mapes Family of America, page 167 - ENOS MAPES was born at Blooming Grove, N. Y. on Jan. 7,1761 and died at Howells, N.Y. on Mar. 16, 1843. He was a farmer and settled the "MILE SQUARE" tract which he helped his father to clear from the wilderness. He was one of the executors of his father's estate. On Mar. 26, 1783 he married Irene Vail, daughter of Isaiah (Josiah, John, and Jeremiah) Vail. She was born July 19 , 1763 and died Feb. 15, 1848 . Both Enos and Irene were buried in the Mapes Burying Ground at Howells, N. Y. Their children were: Nathaniel Mapes b. Feb. 20, 1784, Miriam Mapes b. Feb. 28, 1786, James Mapes b.
