Elisabeth Lecours

     Elisabeth was born on Monday, 29 September 1692 in Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon, Levis County, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 30 September 1692 in St-Joseph Church.1 A contract for the marriage of Elisabeth & Jean-Baptiste Samson was signed on 10 January 1719. It was drawn up by the notary, Delacetierre. It notes Jean Sansson as son of the late Jacques Sansson & Marie-Anne Metru and residing in Quebec. It noted Elisabeth as the daughter of the late Michel Lecour & Louise Ledran..2 Jean & Elisabeth had children: Jean-Jacques [9/19/1720-4/081775][m. 11/14/1746 Marie Elisabeth Prevert], Marie Elisabeth [5/05/1722-7/06/1765], Marie Louise Francoise [3/02/1724][m. 10/21/1754 Francois Valerond], Marie Genevieve [5/06/1727-10//24/1777][m. 4/28/1749 Jean-Baptiste Levitre & 2nd 9/30/1765 Louis Marchand], Joseph [1/21/1729-5/11/1733], Pierre [7/10/1731-7/16/1731], Ignace [7/29/1733-3/14/1758] & Francois [6/23/1736-12/17/1812][m. 10/13/1760 Therese Prevot & 2nd 11/20/1775 Genevieve Duthu].3 Elisabeth's husband, Jean-Baptiste, died on 4 March 1751 in ville de Quebec leaving her a widow. Elisabeth departed this life on Thursday, 20 October 1757 in ville de Quebec at age 65 years and 21 days. She was buried there in the Notre Dame Cemetery on Friday, 21 October 1757.4
