     Jacob was born in 1793 in Pennsylvania. Jacob married Mary Jane Bibler, daughter of Jacob Bibler I and Katharina Hite, on 23 August 1827 in Fairfield County, Ohio. Jacob & Mary Jane had children: Joshua [4/8/1825-2/4/1826], Era [2/23/1830-9/4/1835]David M. [1832][m. Almira], Mary A. [1835], Adaline [1837] & possibly others.¹ 23 September 1850, Jacob and his wife, Mary, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, Ohio. Enumerated in this household were Jacob Lantz [57 Pennsylvania], his wife: Mary [55 Virginia], David M. [18 Ohio], Mary A. [15 Ohio]. Mary could not read or write.² 21 September 1860, Jacob and his wife, Mary, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, Ohio. Enumerated in this household were Jacob Lantz [69 Pennsylvania], Mary [67 Virginia] & Adeline [23 Ohio].³ Jacob departed this life on Sunday, 28 November 1875 in Pleasant Township at age 82 years. He was buried there in Applegate Cemetery.
