Genevieve Lafond

     Genevieve was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Etienne Lafond & Marie Boucher. She was christened there on 29 February 1652 in the Cathedral de l'Assomption.1 1667, the Canadian Census listed Genevieve was living in the home of her mother. Enumerated in this household were Marie Boucher [38 years], Jean Delafond [21 years], Genevieve Delafond [15 years], Pierre Delafond [12 years], Francoise Delafond [9 years], Ettienne Delafond [6 years], Augustin Delafond [3 years] & Domestics: Pierre Delafond [26 years], Deschamps [40 years], Charles [22 years] & Deshayes [19 years].2 A contract for the marriage of Genevieve & Jean-Baptiste Trottier was signed on 24 June 1667 in Quebec, Canada. This was drawn up by their notary, Severin Ameau. It noted that he was a resident of Cap-de-la-Madeleine and his parents as the late Julien Trottier & the late Catherine Loiseau. It also notes Genevieve as the daughter of the late Etienne de la Fond; at Quebec..3 1681, Genevieve and her husband, Jean-Baptiste, were listed on the Canadian Census in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Trottier [38 years], Genevieve de la Fon [30 years], Marie [13 years], Madeleine [11 years], Catherine [7 years], Jean [5 years], Marguerite [3 years] & Francoise [1 year].4
