Daniel Abbott1

M, b. before 1610, d. 1647
     Daniel was born before 1610 in England. Daniel married Mary (?) circa 1630 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was admitted a freeman 18 May 1631 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. On this same day, he was fined 5 shillings for refusing to watch & other ill behavior towards Captain Daniel Patrick. This fine was remitted 6 September 1638. He was granted 3 acres there behind the Pine Swamp on 5 January 1634/35. In 1636, hemoved to Providence. Rhode Island.2 Daniel's wife, Mary, died circa 1643 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island, leaving him a widower.3 Daniel departed this life in 1647 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.4

    page 3 - 18 May 1631: “Daniel Abbott is fined 5s. for refusing to watch & for other ill behavior showed towards Captain Pattricke” the fine was remitted in the general amnesty of 6 September 1638.
    On 4 June 1639, the Massachusetts Bay General Court , for unknown reasons, noted that “Daniell Abott is departed to New Providence”. Since Daniel Abbott does not appear in Cambridge records after February of 1636, he may have gone to Providence as early as 1636.
