Joshua was born circa 1623 in Kirby Mooreside, Yorkshire, England. Joshua married Anne (?) circa 1655 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Sometime after his father gave him & his brothers his land in Stratford & before his father's will on 20 November 1661, he died.
