Charles Hammond

M, b. 1692, d. 13 September 1772
     Charles was born in 1692 in St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was the son of Major Charles Hammond and Hannah Howard.1 Charles married Rachel Stimson, daughter of John Stimson and Rachel Beard, on 24 October 1715 in Westminster Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, at St Margret's Church.1 Charles and Rachel had a daughter, Anne [8/08/1716-][m. 12/16/1731 Thomas Homewood & 2nd William Govane]. Charles's wife, Rachel, died on 25 February 1769 in St. Anne's Parish leaving him a widower. Charles made his will on 22 July 1772. In his will he mentions his daughter Anne Govane and a Michael Owings "that now livies with me. He to take care of Hammural Bishop and William and Ann Bishop." He names his grandson, Charles Homewood and his granddaughter Ann Mariatt and ann's two sons Thomas and James. Also mentioned is another granddaughter, Rebecca Bishop who is deceaased, her husband William Bishop and Rebecca's children: William, Ann Rebecca, Hammutal.1 Charles departed this life on Sunday, 13 September 1772 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. His will was probated on 13 October 1772.
