     Johann Jacob was born on Saturday, 8 May 1784 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. On 1 June 1784, he was christened in Rehreersburg, Berks County, Pennsylvania, at Altalaha Lutheran Church. Christening records note his parents: George Michael Haag & Catharina & his sponsors: Jacob Saladye & Susan Kernin.1 Johann married Elizabeth Catherine Hoffman in 1805.
