William Goodwin

     William was born in Bocking, County Essex, England. William married Elizabeth White, daughter of Robert White and Bridgit Algar, on 7 November 1616 in Shalford, County Essex, England, at St. Andrew's Church.1 On 22 June 1632, William & his wife, Elizabeth, left from London aboard the ship, "Lion", mastered by Captain Mason, bound for New England. They disembarked at Boston Harbor.2,3 By 1636 the Goodwin family had settled at Hartford where they were to remain. Elizabeth's brother, John and his wife, Mary settled there has well.
