     Joshua was born circa 1597 in either London, County Middlesex, England, or nearby county Essex. Joshua married Elizabeth (?) in London, County Middlesex, England. Joshua was an ironmonger of London. He had extensive business connections here from 1644 to 1652. He was a member of the Iron Works Co. In 1648, Jonas Wood of Hempsted, Long Island ordeined Captain Robert Harding of Boston a merchant & Mr Joshua Foote of London an ironmonger at the Goulden Cock in Gracious street to be his true & lawfull attornies, giving them full power to secure his inheritance from his mother's estate. He came to New England in 1653. He first resided at Boston but soon removed to Providence. Rhode Island.1,2 Joshua made his will on 2 October 1655.

I, Joshua Foote, Citizen and Ironmonger of London, now resident in Providence in New England" -- "I commit my whole estate to Lifte Joshua Hewes and Henry Fowler for to take care of that it may be preserved for my wife and children and such as I am indebted unto" *** "with as much speed as may be, so far as it will go to my wife and children." He instructed Henry Fowler & Joshua Hewes to sell his belongs and give the money to his wife.3,4,5

His will was probated on 31 October 1655. Joshua departed this life on Sunday, 31 October 1655 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.
