John Foote

M, b. circa 1525, d. 1558
     John was born circa 1525 in England. John married Helen Warren, daughter of Richard Warren and Alice Jenawaye, on 19 January 1549 in Royston, Hertfordshire, England.1 He was a tallow chandler. The will he wrote was not dated.

I, John Foote leave to the church of Royston, 20s. I leave to my wife Helen, all my lands and tenements in Royston for life and £ 80 are to be divided among all my children. I leave to my servant Maud Smyth £ 6 13s 4d to her marriage. I leave £ 3 that my brother Foote oweth to his two eldest children. I leave to my wife’s brother Richard Warren the younger and to her uncle John Jenawaye of Stoone, 40s each. I leave to my wife the rest. I leave to my son Robert a goblet, feather bed and bedding. I leave to my son John Foote a silver salt, a feather bed and bedding. I leave to Aves Foote and Elizabeth Foote,my daughters, each three of the best spoons, a bed and bedding. I leave all the remainder to my wife named executrix. witnesses: William Meede, citizen and grocer of London, John Jenaway, Nicholas Warreyn of Bassingbourn and Richard Warreyn of Bassingbourn.2


John departed this life in 1558 in Royston, Hertfordshire, England. His will was probated on 18 July 1558.
