     James was born circa 1724 in Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. Some records indicate he was the eldest son. James married Charity Thomas, daughter of John Thomas and Abigail Sands, on 19 September 1753 in New York.3 On 14 April 1747, James & his family resided on property inherited from his father at Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. James made his will on 4 February 1780 at Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. IHe mentions his wife Charity and her father John Thomas, Esquire & his children: Abigail, Anne, Marcy, Thomas, Edward, George, James, & David. [New York Wills: Liber 36, page 94] James departed this life on Friday, 25 February 1780 in Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. His will was probated on 11 June 1783.
