     Elisha was born on Thursday, 22 April 1700 in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.1 Elisha married Alice Else Godfrey on 15 February 1721/22 in Yarmouth.2 Elisha and Alice had children: Bethia [12/30/1722-11/01/1760], Lydia [5/08/1727-10/11/1812], Lucy [2/19/1729-10/11/1812] [m. 3/31/1748 John Larcher], Edward [10/13/1730-9/12/1783]. Elisha's wife, Alice, died in 1730 in Yarmouth leaving him a widower. Elisha married 2nd Rememberance Luce on 28 December 1731 in Yarmouth. Elisha an Rememberance had children: Samuel [9/25/1735-12/17/1802], Benjamin [2/15/1733-3/01/1794], Anna [12/28/1735-6/20/1765], Elverton [4/27/1743-2/00/1778] & Deborah [11/27/1746]. Elisha's wife, Rememberance, died in May 1754 in Tisbury leaving him a widower. Elisha married 3rd Jane McGee on 29 May 1754 in Tisbury. Elisha made his will on 28 July 1763.

In the name of God Amen I Elisha Croel of Tisbury in the County of Dukes County in the province of the Masunechunck Bay in New England Yeoman Being weak in body but of a Sound & Disposing Mind & Memory & Calling to mind The Mortality of my body & that it is appointed to all men once to die Doe make & Ordain this my Last will & Testament in manner and form following – First I Devise to & Recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it My body to the Earth to be Decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named & as Touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in my Life time. I do dispose of in the following Manner [vizt] Imprimis – I give to my son Samuel Croel of said Tisbury three shillings to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor after my decease and that with what he hath already had I think to be his portion of my Estate Item – I give to my son Edward Croel five shillings to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor after my decease & that with what he hath already had to be his portion of my Estate.
Item I give to y Children of my Daughter Bethiah Rogers Deceased Five Shillings to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor after my decease & that with what she hath had in her Life time I think to be her full portion of my Estate.
Item I give to my Two Daughters Anna & Deborah all my Indoors Moveables after my wifes Decease; Lastly I give to my two Sons Benjamin & Eleverton all the residue & Remainder of my Estate both Real & Personal in whose hands it may be found. They to Pay all my Debts out of my Estate & to Receive all my Just Dues and to find & Provide food for my wifes Maintenance during her Natural Life. She Complying with this my Last will To be & Remain to the said Benjamin & Elverton’s own Propper Use & behoof forever Also I appoint my Son Benjamin Crowel to be my Sole Executor to this my Last will and Testament In Witness & Confirmation hereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this Twenty Eighth Day of July Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred & Sixty Three – Signed Sealed Pronounced and Declared by The Said Elisha Crowel to be his Last Will and Testament In Presence of us Stephen Luce Sarah Roger Sarah Look the mark of Elisha Croel.3

Elisha departed this life in Tisbury.
