     Francis was born circa 1599 in Ringefield, County Suffolk, England. Francis married Ann Fiske, daughter of John Fiske and Anne Lawter, circa 1633 in County Suffolk, England. In 1637, Francis and his wife, Ann, daughters Ann & Mary, immigrated from the parish of St. James, South Elham, County Suffolk, England, to New England. Among the passengers were Ann's mother, brothers John & William and sister, Martha. Francis purchased a lot in Dedham from pioneer Francis Austen where he was made a freeman on 13 May 1640.3 Francis's wife, Ann, died on 5 December 1649 in Dedham leaving him a widower. Francis married 2nd Sarah Howe on 10 June 1650. She was the widow of John Sibley. Francis departed this life on Thursday, 10 October 1658 in Dedham.4 The inventory of Francis's estate was taken on Sunday, 20 October 1658 by Eleazer Lusher, Henry Chickering, John Howard and Peter Woodward. The total value was £1820 18. 08
Mrs. Sarah Chickering & Capt. Eleazer Lusher deposed. The Court Considering the good report of the pious and prudent behavior of Sarah ye relict of Francis Chickering, & bringing up ye Children of the said Francis etc. does order that she be allowed out of this estate as her portion [including the £150 contracted for, before marriage, as a part thereof] the some of £350. the rest of the houses, lands, debts, and goods to be divided betweene the 5 daughters. Accompting £100 already payd Stephen Paine as part of his wives portion, to be much of her part.5,6,7

    Henry, a physician, brother of the preceeding, son of Stephen, grandson of Thomas of Wymondham, England, came from Ringeford, England. He was a proprietor at Salem, Mass. In 1630. removed to Dedham, Mass.

A man of this name was a pioneer of Dedham in 1636. About 1639 his lot passed to Francis Chickering and he removed to Hampton, N.
