Alexis Casaubon

M, b. circa 13 November 1707, d. 24 April 1777
     Alexis was born in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Martin Casaubon & Francoise Lepelle DeMarais. On 13 November 1707, he was christened in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, at Tres Ste-Trinitie Church.1 A contract for the marriage of Alexis and Marie-Madeleine Fafard was signed on 27 July 1734. It notes that Alixis was 25 years old, son of Martin Casaubon, Captain Major of the Militia, the family residing at Berthier. Also Madeleine was 19 years old, the daughter of Charles Fafart.2 Alexis and Marie Madeleine had one child, Alexis [1735-2/23/1800][m. 6/19/1758 Marie Marguerite Antoinette Janvrin Defresne de la Chesnaye].3 Alexis departed this life on Thursday, 24 April 1777 in Berthierville, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. He was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Genevieve on Saturday, 26 April 1777.4
