     Thomas was born circa 1408 in Salle, County Norfolk, England, at the manor of Stinton. In 1433, Thomas received and inheritance that came to him through his faternal grandmother, Joan Shardelow, who was heir to her brother, John Shardelow, whose grandson John died without issue. The inheritance of Thomas included the manors of Barten, by Mildenhale, with the mills of Cavenham, Cowling, Stradsell and Downham, in Sulfolk, with the advowsons of Flempton and Santon. Thomas made his will on 10 July 1479 at Woodbridge, Suffolk, England. Thomas departed this life on Saturday, 17 June 1482 in Woodbridge. He was buried there in Woodbridge Priory.
