Jean Blet dit Gazaille

M, b. 1642, d. 17 August 1722
     Jean was born in 1642 in Perigueux, Dordogne, Aquitaine, France. He was the son of Pierre Blet & Francoise Jardinier. A contract for the marriage of Jean Blet dit Gazaille & Jeanne Bouveau was signed on 16 April 1674. It notes Jean Bellet Gazalle resided at St-Ours; originated from Sarraza, diocese of Perigueux; and that he was the son of Pierre Bellet & Francoise Jardrinier. It also noted that Jeanne Beauvieu originated from Nogean-sur-Seine, Champagne; daughter of Julien Beauveau & Catherine Peau, It was drawn up by notary Antoine Adhemar but signed after the marriage.1 He was buried there in the churchyard of Tres Ste-Trinitie on Monday, 17 August 1722.2 Jean departed this life on Monday, 17 August 1722 in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, at age 80 years.
