Francis was born in 1758 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was often referred to as Frank. Francis, Mary & their family came to Fairfield County, Ohio from Shenandoah Valley, Virginia in 1805. They built a cabin & moved into it in the fall of that year. Frank was a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church where he was found as a member in 1806. Francis married Mary Pence on 15 April 1783 in Shenandoah Valley, Page County, Virginia.2 Frank & Mary had children: John [4/16/1782-2/11/1854][m. 8/13/1808 Eleanor Wilson [1790-1845], Mary "Polly" [11/22/1784-9/22/1823][m. 8/18/1810 Joseph Stouder [1780-__]], Abraham [12/31/1785-2/04/857][m. Elizabeth Stoddard [1792-1862]], Elizabeth [ca. 1787-__][m. Martin Lunn Lantz [1772-1850]], Jacob [12/11/1789-6/09/1877][m. 5/30/1815 Susannah Hively [1794-1863], Catherine [4/07/1795-2/07/1868][m. 1/15/1818 John Taylor [1772-1833] & 2nd 8/11/1842 John Idle [1781-1878]], Joseph [4/13/1802-5/08/1841][m. 5/16/1820 Drusilla Arney [1806-1888], Anna [ca. 1803-__][m. 9/23/1824 James Wilson] & Barbara [1805-__][m. John Houser].2 Francis made his will on 14 December 1813 at Baltimore, Fairfield County, Ohio.
Be it remembered that I Frances Bibler of the county of Fairfield Ohio being weak in body but of sound and good mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in the form following, viz: In the first place I give and bequeath unto my
beloved wife the tract of land where I now live on, and likewise all my movable estate during her life. And it is my will that after her death that my son Joseph shall have the said tract of land, who shall pay the sum of eighty dollars to my daughter Catherine when he shall arrive of the age of twenty one years. ??? my wife shall make him my said son Joseph a deed for the said land and it is further my will that my daughter Anna shall have the sum of eighty dollars out of my moveable estate after the death of my said wife, and if there should be a balance after takeing the said Eighty out for my said daughter the same shall be equally divided amongst my several heirs. And it is further my will that my son John shall pay the balance due to me by note unto my Daughter Elizabeth, which is the sum of sixty one dollars, and my son Abraham is to pay the balance due to me by note unto my daughter Mary which is the sum of seventy eight dollars, and my son Jacob is to pay the balance which is due to me by note unto my daughter Barbara which is the sum of seventy eight dollars and it is also my will that my estate shall not be appraised nor sale made thereof until after the death of my said wife unless she shall agree thereto. And lastly I do appoint my son John Bibler and Christian Cagey my Executors, hereby revoking all former will by me made. Fairfield County Ohio At a court of common Pleas holden for the county aforesaid this 7th day of February 1814 this last will and testament of Francis Bibler dec'd is produced in court and proven by Joseph Heistand and Paul Hively two of the subscribing witnesses thereto an which it ordered to be recorded-- signed Hugh Boyle [airfield County Courthouse, Lancaster Ohio. Case/Docket No. 2662, 562, & 2896-the latter being the Land Record for Francis Bibler].
Francis departed this life on Wednesday, 15 December 1813 in Baltimore, Fairfield County, Ohio. He was buried there in the Old Basil Cemetery. The inscrption on the stone reads: FRANCIS BIBLER, DEPARTED THIS LIFE,DECEMBER 15, A.D. 1813. AGED ABOUT 55 YEARS.3 His will was probated on 7 February 1814.
