Matilda fitz Bernard

     Matilda fitz was born in 1175. She was the daughter of Thomas fitz Bernard [d. 1185] & Eugenia, daughter of Ralph Picot of Kent.1 King Henry II arranged that John de Bidun & Matilda fitz Bernard be married.2 Matilda fitz married John Bidun III, son of John de Bidun II and Alice de Mauduit, circa 1182.3 Matilda's husband, John, died in 1184 in Lavendon, Buckinghamshire, England, leaving her a widow. She being only 10 years old in 1185. Matilda fitz married 2nd John de Rochford circa 1201.4 Matilda's husband, John, died before 1242, leaving her a widow. Matilda departed this life in 1254. This is the date of her Inquest Post Mortem.
