     Abraham was born on Tuesday, 20 July 1773 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Abraham married Catharine Fast on 7 March 1802 in Rockingham County. The 1820 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Rush Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the family of Abraham Beery [010101:5311].2 The 1830 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Rush Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the family of Abraham Beery [011110001:00231001].3 Abraham departed this life on Sunday, 15 June 1845 in Rush Creek Township at age 71 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was buried there in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Catharine Fast, born near Reading, Pa., April 17, 1785; died Jan. 2, 1870; buried in the Miller cemetery about one mile east of Berne, Fairfield Co., Ohio. They were married March 7, 1802. They moved by wagon and team from Rockingham Co., Va, through the mountains, in 1805, and settled about one mile east of Berne, Fairfield Co., Ohio. They had various experiences in moving to Ohio. In descending the many mountains they were obliged to tic a tree to drag behind the wagon to prevent it from running over the team. In those days, Ohio was woods, Indians and wild beasts.
    They settled on the bluffs on the north side of Raccoon Creek, one mile east of Berne. in Fairfield Co., Ohio, where 24
    they spent the remainder of their long lives. He is said to have been a tanner by occupation,
