Michael Bauerman1,2

M, b. 18 October 1711, d. 9 February 1795
     Michael was born on Sunday, 18 October 1711 in Germany.3 In 1751, Michael left from Rotterdam aboard the ship, "Edinburgh", under the command of Captain James Russell, bounded for Pennsylvania. They arrived in Philadelphia on Monday, the 16th of September. He did this day take an oath, at the court house, usual Qualifications & subscribed them..4 He was involved in the founding of Ziegel Church formerly called Macungie, an abbreviation for Mauchkuntsky, meaning "eating place of the bears". A Michael Bowerman is found on the tax rolls for £3.4.8 in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County [originally Northampton County], Pennsylvania in 1772. He was an early member of the ziegles's Church in Weisenberg Township.5 Michael departed this life on Monday, 9 February 1795 in Weisenberg Township at age 83 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was noted as age 83.4.1 years.6 He was buried at Weisenberg Township in Ziegel Churchyard.
