  1. [S1042] Robert Bassett, Page 142. Peter Clock of Newtown, Nassau Island, produces a paper which he claims is a deed from Robert Bassett, of Stratford, Conn., to a house now in possession of John Ferris, Sr. Ferros disputes this claim, and says that he has actual possession of this house for 31 years; that he had it from Nicholas Bayly, who had it from John Archer, who bought it from Richard Smith, who bought from Robert Meeker, who lived in it several years before the death of Robert, father of the present Robert Bassett, and that the claim has been made during all this time. 5 July 1700.
