Thomas Welles

M, d. 14 January 1659/60
     Thomas was born. Thomas married 2nd Elizabeth Deming, daughter of Jonathan Deming and Elizabeth Gilbert, circa 1646 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.1 He was magistrate at the time of his marriage to Elizabeth and later govenor of the colony. Thomas made his will on 7 November 1659 at Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. He left his estate to his son Robert.

When in life, he gave a good estate to each of his children, except his son John, who settled in Stratford. Mr. John Welles died before.his father.

l gave him his son Robert, then a child, to whom Governor Welles, in his will, which is dated Novem- ber 7, 1659,

He gave the bulk of the large estate of which be died seized.2 Thomas departed this life on Wednesday, 14 January 1659/60 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.3
