Etta married 2nd Alva James Howell, son of Parshall Howell Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Torrey, on 28 August 1915 in Howell, Livingston County, Michigan.1 18 January 1920, Etta and her husband, Alva, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in White Oaks Township. Enumerated in this household were Alva J. Howell [40 Michigan], Ettie [28 Michigan], Roy C. [15 Michigan], & his mother: Sarah E. [76 New York].2
