     Henry was born circa 1529 in Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. He was not yet 23 years in his father's will. Henry married Alice King, daughter of Mr. (?) King, circa 1566 in Buckinghamshire, England. He and Alice were blessed with 7 children. Henry became owner in fee of Dundridge in 1578 - this granting him the title "Lord of the Manor". Prior to this time. the family were tenents not owners.2 Henry made his will on 2 January 1599 at Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England.

In the name of God, Amen. The second daye of Januarye, in the year of our Lord God one Thousand ffive Hundred nynetye-nyne, and the two and fortieth yeare of the Rayne of our Soveraigne Ladie Elizabeth by the Grace of God of England, ffrance and Ireland, Queene, Defender of the ffaythe. I, Henry Baldwin, of Dundridge, in the parish of Aston Clinton, in the County of Buck, yoman, beinge of whole mynde and good and perfect memorie, laude be given to Almighty God, revoking and disannulling all other my former wills heretofore mede, doe meke, ordeyne, appoynte and declare this my last will and testament, as well concerning the disposition of all my lands, Tenement; and Hereditaments as of all and singular my goodes and chettells, in manner and fforme ffollowing: that is to say, ffirst comend my sowle to Almighty God. my maker and redeemer, and my bodie to be buried in decent sorte, according to the discretion of toy executor, hereafter named. Item: I give and bequethe unto the poore people of Aston Clinton, in the Countie of Buck aforesayd, the somme of Twentie shillings. Item: I give and bequeathe unto the poor people of Chollesburie Twentie Shillings. Item: I give and bequeathe unto the poor people of Wendover the somme of Twentie shillings. Item: I give and bequeathe unto the poor people of Great Missenden three shillings. ffower pence. Item: I give unto Edmond Stonhill, of Saint Leonard's. two shillings. Item: I give unto Thomas George, of Saint Leonards, twelve pence. Item: I give unto widow Tomkins, of Saint Leonards. twoe shillings. Item: I give and hequeathe unto John Baldwyn, my sonne, all those my lower croftes or closes of ground, with ther appurtenances, situate, lyinge and being in Wendover, in the couutie of Buck, called or knowne by the name or names of Stybbings; to have and to howld the said croftes or closes..with ther appertenances, unto the same John Baldwyn, his heires and assignees, to the onelye propper use and behoofe of the same John Baldwyn, of his heires and assignees forever. Item: I give and bequeathe unto the sayd John Baldwyn, my sonne, Ten poundes, to be payd within one yeare next after my decease. Item: I
give and bequeathe unto Robert Baldwin, my sonne, all those my messuages, Lands, Tenements, Rents, reversions and hereditements, with all and singular their and everie of their appurtenances, situate, lying and being in Flaunden and Hempstead or elsewhere within the county of Herts; to have and to hold the sayd messuages, lands, tenements, rents, reversions and hereditaments, with all and singular their and everie of their appurtenances, unto the sayd Robert Baldwyn, his heirs and assignees, to the propper use and behoofe of the same Robert Baldwin, and of his heires and assignees forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto the sayd Robert Baldwyn, my sonne, the somme of fortyc pounds of good and lawfull
moneye of England, to be payd unto him, his executors or assigns in manner and ffourme followinge: that is to say. that twentie poundes to be within one year next after my decease, and the other twentie poundes within one yeare next following.
Item: I give and bequenthe unto Agnes, my daughter, the somme of one hundred poundes, of good and lawful! moneys of England, to be payd unto the sayd Agnes, her executors or assignees, at the daye of her marriage or within two yeares next after my decease, which shall ffirst happen. I give and bequeathe unto James Bones the somme of ffortye poundes, of good lawfull money of England, to be payde unto Him in znanner and forme ffollowing, viz: Twentie poundes thereof within sixe months next after my decease, and the other twenty powndes within
eighteen months then next following. Item: I give and bequeathe unto Richard Baldwyn, my sonne, one cupboard, Twoe Tables, two fformes and all the stooles in the Hall, the Iron Barr in the Chimney in the Hall, and two of the hangers over the fryer there; the great spin; the greatest cohyerns (the irons which support the spit); a payr of andyearns in the parlor, with topps of brass, and the fryer shovell and touges sortable thereunto; the great pott, the great Brewery Cawderne with rings, the yettinge ffatt; the Towe feather bedes, whereon the same Richard lyeth, with the boulsters, and furniture thereunto belonginge; Twos bedstendes standing in the servants' chamber; and the wool bedd, and all the furniture belonging unto the same; the press in the loft; Twoe platters of the greater sorte, twoe platters of the second sorte, and twoe pewter dishes; a basin and ewer; all my armor and horsemyll. and all things thereunto belonginge; sixe silver spoons and a maser.
Item: I give and bequeathe unto the said Richard Baldwyn all the glass and waynscott about the house after the decease of Alice, my wife, and the table in the parlor. Item: I doe forsgive my son, Silvester Baldwyn, all the money that he oweth unto me, and I doe give unto the said Silvester Baldwyn, my sonne, Ten Poundes, to be payd by my wife out of her porcon within one year next after my decease. Item: 1 give and bequeathe unto John Baldwyn and Henry Baldwyn, sonnes of my sonne Silvester, to each of them five shillings • and eightpence. Item: I give unto Henry Bonas. sonne of Jaymes Bonas, sixe shillings and eight pence. Item: I give unto Bartholomew Gravenye one Ewe and Lambe. Item: I give unto Robert Baldwyn, my late servant, twelve pence. Item: I give unto everie one of my god-children sixe pence. Item: I give and bequeathe unto my sister, Lettice Foster, the somme of Twentie shillings, of lawfull money of England. Item: I give and bequethe unto Thomas Kinge, of Swanborne. Tenn shillings of lawful' moneye of Eingland. Item: I give and bequeaths unto Richard Salter, my sonne-in-law, five ewe sheepe and five weathers; and whereas my sonne Richard now hath, and taketh by the permission and sufferance of me the same Henry Baldwyn, the third part of the proffitt and comoditie arising, coming and being of all and singular the corn, beest, sheepe, horses, cartes, cart gears, pIoughes and plough genres, and all other the goodes and. chattells whatsoever in, upon or about the mannor or ffarme of Dundridge, to his proper use and behoofe—the house. hold stuffe and implements only excepted. I will that the said Richard shall and enjoye, to his propper use and behoof, the full, whole and first moyetye of all the same come, beest, sheepe, horses, cartes, cartgears, ploughs and ploughgears aforesaid, together with the household stuffe not before beqeathed, my debts being payd and funeral charges borne. And of this my last will and testament I doe make my sayde son, Richard Baldwyn. my full and sole executor, and John Baldwin, my brother, and John Adams, of Little Horwood, my overseers, and I doe give unto either of them, for their paynes therein to be taken, the somme of Twentie Shillings, of good and lawful' money of England. Henry departed this life before 1 June 1602 in Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. On 1 June 1602, Henry was buried at the chancel of St. Michael & All Angels Church within the parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. His will was probated on 2 July 1602 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury i n London by Richard, his son and executer.

In 1544 the king sold the manor of Dundridge to Sir John Baldwin, (fn. 150) who died seised of the manor. (fn. 151) It then passed to his grandson Sir Thomas Pakington, and in 1578 it was sold by John Pakington to Henry and Richard Baldwin. (fn. 152) Henry Baldwin obtained a grant of free warren in his lands in Aston Clinton from James I (fn. 153) in 1620. Before 1628 (fn. 154) the manor passed to Richard, presumably the son of Henry Baldwin, and he settled it on his wife Christian and his own heirs male, on his brother Silvester, and the four sons of Silvester. (fn. 155) Richard died in 1636, (fn. 156) and although his widow survived him, (fn. 157) Dundridge seems to have come into the possession of Henry Baldwin, his nephew. - www.british-history.ac.uk.
