Catherine was born in 1666 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. She was confirmed in 1676 at Cap-de-la-Madeleine.¹ A contract for the marriage of Catherine & Pierre Rivard dit Lanouette was signed on 9 January 1685 in Quebec, Canada. It was drawn up by the notary, Jean Cusson. It noted Pierre as being of Batiscan & his parents being Nicolas Rivard de Lavingne & Catherine St Pert. It also noted Catherine as residing at Cap-de-la-Madeleine & her parents as the late Julien Trotier & Marie Sedilot..¹ Catherine's husband, Pierre, died circa 1 March 1724 in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Catherine departed this life in Batiscan. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Francois Xavier on Wednesday, 2 February 1735.²
